Flameproofings Limited are a market leader in the flame retardant coating of fabrics
for the upholstery and household textile markets.
We offer two alternative methods of producing Flame Retardent Fabrics, i.e.
impregnation or backcoating. The choice is determined by the base of the fabric
and the type of finish required.
Extensive experience in multiple market sectors and a policy of product innovation
has resulted in an extensive range of flame retardant services being offered
to our customers.

Our current product range can be summarised as follows:
- Schedule 3 interliner
- We can manufacture up to 3.2 metres wide using our environmentally friendly,
Antimony, Bromide and halogen free system. We offer two products. One based
on either a substantial fabric construction of 48x44/10x10 ring spun yarn,
to give the product strength, or an alternative based on a non woven fabric
incorporating wool. We hold fabric at all times, each batch is tested utilising
a UKAS accredited test house supporting our own in house laboratory.
- Schedule 3 Herringbone
- we produce a flame proof fabric that is used in conjunction with feathers
that passes schedule 3 and that is also calendered in house. This product
will give a low air porosity level that will stop feathers perculating through
the fabric. We hold fabric at all times, each batch is tested utilising a
UKAS accredited test house supporting our own in house laboratory.
- Commission Coating for upholstery and household textile markets.
- Our environmentally friendly system for impregnating coating for various
fabrics meets the exacting British Standard test methods for semi-durable
and fully durable requirements.
- Coating to inhibit anti-microbial organisms
- Flameproofings Limited have been put in for a patent on their unique chemical
called Enduracide. This chemical will inhibit dangerous organisms such as
MRSA, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia Coli. Our
tests have been done using the test methods described in SNV 195 920:1994.
- Coatings for flame proof fabrics
- We produce specialised flame proof coatings for the contract upholstery
market including nursing homes, hotels and theatres. Our coating allows the
fabric to be: Waterproof Flame retardant up to Schedule 3 crib 5 Stain resistant
Breathable
- Flock coatings for curtains and upholstery
- We use a sophisticated flock machine that flocks up to 72” wide. Our
system meets the semi-permanent, crib 5 schedule 3 and fully durable requirements.
We apply a flock on the back adhesive to give a luxurious handle which makes
the fabric feel more substantial. We offer this service either on a commission
or on a fully factored product using polyester, polyester cotton or cottons.
We always carry a wide range of stock at any one time.
